COVID Prepared

Safety and good health of our patients and our beloved city of Kingston are of the utmost importance.

Starting Monday June 1, 2020 we will be resuming routine eye care and seeing patients at reduced capacity to ensure that social distancing can be maintained. In addition to our current rigorous cleaning and sanitizing procedures, here is the precautionary steps Limestone Eyecare have made to help prevent the spread of COVID19.

COVID-19 Prepared
  • Any patient who is experiencing symptoms of COVID19, who is living with someone that has symptoms, who has been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID19, or who has travelled outside of Ontario within 14 days will be asked to reschedule the appointment for 14 days.
  • Patients and guests with a positive COVID19 screening will be directly referred to Telehealth Ontario (1-866-797-0000).
  • Optometrists and staff will not present to work if ill with symptoms of the COVID19 infection.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the clinic for all patients and guests, and must be used upon entry into the clinic.
  • Every device or appliance (including eyeglass frames) that patients/guests contact will be disinfected before use with the next person.
  • Doctors and staff will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) covering their mouth, nose and eyes when interacting with patients.
  • For anyone who enters the clinic, we request a mask be worn (ages 2 and up).
  • Physical distancing (of >2m) will be maintained in the clinic and optical.
  • Barriers are installed at reception, slit lamps and the optical bar to help provide protection during patient interaction.

  • When possible, dispensing services (spectacles & contact lenses) will be provided by appointment, please call to set up a time.
  • Curbside pickup and delivery options will be available for patients' orders.
  • Health Canada guidelines will be followed.

Should you experience an emergency after hours, contact Galen Eye Centre at 613-507-4800 and leave a message with your name, telephone number and your symptoms. Their on-call ophthalmologist will contact you. Please DO NOT present to the emergency room without first talking to an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
